MEN'S LACROSSE

Fordham Men's Lacrosse is looking forward to another promising start this upcoming spring 2008. After a heartbreaking loss to Columbia during last year's playoffs, the team hopes to come back strong and reclaim the metro division title. Fordham's roster does take some big hits, losing several seniors from the '07 season. Noteworthy players include Bill Gagas (D), John Oliva (M), Zack Napolitani (D), Ryan Johnson (M), and Ian O'Reilly (D).
The good news is that a talented freshmen crew is showing a lot of promise. Mike DeRose and John Bloomberg, from Canisius, offer some powerful scoring potential. Longpole Pat Schram, a Gettysburg transfer, will surely lay some big hits this season, as well as newcomers Colin Kemper and Andrew Hayes. At defensive middle, Fordham acquires Max Macaudas whose stick skills and quickness are proving to be invaluable for clears and face-offs.

These rookies compliment an already talented returning crew who are ready to take this season head on. Dominic Capolini remains in between the pipes, prepared to provide another phenomenal season at goalie. At defense, James "Tower" Pollard's power and Tim Ryan's talented pokes will keep opponents in check. Midfield is relying on Whit Dahmer's aggression and speed as well as Pat Lewis' field sense to keep games on Fordham's terms. Colin O'Leary is ready to prove himself as face-off man and has already dominated significantly this season, and Fordham is expecting to see big things from both players. At attack, Danny Blessing is looking to have a big season, already showing some impressive moves in scrimmages this fall. His counterpart, Kenric Heogler, is utilizing that lefty shot and making good looks, creating damage on offense as well. Dave Ardente will be switching between midfield and attack, so the team will be able to employ his impressive stick skills all over the field.
All around, things look promising for this Fordham team and the upcoming spring season.
