DIVERSITY
Sodexo Ranks among Top Employers for African-Americans and Hispanics

Sodexo has been ranked among the nation’s top ten employers by The Black Collegian, a publication serving the career and self-development interests of African-American collegians.

“Sodexo is proud to be on The Black Collegian’s list for the second year in a row,” said President and CEO Richard Macedonia. “Diversity is one of our key strategic imperatives and we are committed to embracing diversity and creating opportunities for the advancement for all of our employees. By building an inclusive environment, we are able to continue to leverage the talents and skills of our diverse workforce that play such a critical role in our success.”

Ranking sixth in the survey, Sodexo was joined at the top by prestigious corporations such as Northrop Grumman, JP Morgan Chase, Lockheed Martin, and Procter and Gamble. Sodexo also ranked second in the magazine’s list of top employers by academic major in the hospitality category. The Black Collegian surveys major employers, ranking respondents according to the projected number of hires from college recruiting for the class of 2005.

This announcement comes less than a month after Sodexo was named to HISPANIC Magazine’s Corporate 100 List.

"Being named to HISPANIC Magazine's Corporate 100 List reinforces our commitment to making diversity and inclusion a strategic business imperative," said Macedonia. "We will continue to create an environment where the doors of opportunity and success are open to all of our employees."

The HISPANIC Magazine Corporate 100 List is based on a company's recruitment efforts, diversity training, ethnic representation of its board members and other minority business initiatives. Also considered are funding efforts for scholarships, grants and organizations that assist Latinos, and philanthropic donations targeting Hispanic communities as well as a company's overall image in the Hispanic community. The complete Corporate 100 list appears in the January/February edition of HISPANIC Magazine.
